On May 9, the Organizing Committee of China 2024 Asian International Stamp Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as "CHINA 2024") was officially established in Beijing and held its inaugural meeting. Li Xiaopeng, Minister of Transport, assumed the role of Chairman of the Organizing Committee and he stressed the importance of adhering to high standards and strict requirements to swiftly, efficiently, and orderly advance the preparations for China 2024, in a bid to organize a distinctive international philatelic cultural exchange event. Zhao Chongjiu, Director General of the State Post Bureau, presided over the meeting.

CHINA 2024 aims to showcase the great achievements of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, deepen cultural exchanges and cooperation in philately between China and the rest of the world, and promote the development of cultural undertakings and the postal industry. The meeting pointed out that stamps, as "business cards of a nation”, are vital carriers to disseminate and showcase the culture and spirit of a nation. The hosting of CHINA 2024 will enhance the international influence of the Chinese civilization and promote multilateral exchanges and cooperation.
